Quick Start – iOS and Android

Before you start

Check that your Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) works with GotCGM:

Freestyle Libre 2/3+ via LibreLinkUp

Dexcom G6/G7 via Dexcom Share/Follow

If you have a CGM that is NOT listed above, then GotCGM will not work for you, unless that other CGM is writing your readings into Apple Health (AH) or Google Health Connect (GHC). If that’s the case, then GotCGM can fetch those readings from AH/GHC.

A special note about Stelo by Dexcom and Lingo: these CGMs are not supported by GotCGM. While they can write your readings into AH and GHC, there is a time-delay of about 15 minutes. Since GotCGM is all about enabling real-time displays, the 15 minute delay makes these CGMs unusable for our purposes.

Then, find your LibreLinkUp or Dexcom Share username and password.

For Libre CGMs

Try signing out and back in to the LibreLinkUp mobile app. If you can do that successfully and see your own data, then you’ll know you have the correct username and password.

For Dexcom CGMs

Try signing out and back in to the main G6/G7 mobile app on your phone, OR sign in to Dexcom Clarity. Use the username and password that successfully signs you in to either of those.

1. Connect your CGM

Open GotCGM and tap either Freestyle Libre or Dexcom, depending on whichever you use.

Enter the username and password that you found in the previous step. If successful, you should see your most recent reading on the next screen!

Sign in with Google (Android or iOS) or Apple (iOS only) authentication to create an account.

A quick note about privacy. GotCGM requires that you sign in with Google or Apple to authenticate you and create a user account. This is so that you can recover your data on other devices or on the web. It also enables you to use the same account information in Gluroo if you decide to use that app too.

Signing in with Apple or Google does not share your password or any other data held by these companies to GotCGM.

2. Check that your setup is complete

After you’ve signed in, head to the Now screen. You should see your current BGL in big text at the top and a chart below. Wait up to 5 minutes for the chart to fill in. If you still don’t see any CGM data at all, navigate to Settings > CGM Settings and check for any errors. Also try removing and re-adding your credentials.

3. Start customizing!

Now that your readings are syncing, we’re off to the races. Go to the Surfaces screen and explore the various ways that you can get even more out of GotCGM. Here are some links to more in-depth guides on these surfaces:
